“Al-Ria” Shines amongst Wines from the Whole World in Tasting Organized by the Biggest Belgium Newspaper
Wine from the Algarve tops 100 wines with the highest score possible
It is with great honour that we announce that our “Al-Ria, Red 2015” (IGP Algarve) had the highest score amongst 100 wines from the whole world in a tasting promoted by the biggest newspaper in Belgium! This tasting was organized by the “Het Laatste Nieuws” (1 million readers per day) and was published this month in their special wine supplement. The tasting compared the wines selected by the 7 biggest supermarkets chains in Belgium for their respective promotional wine fairs and it ended being our Algarve wine that achieved the ONLY highest score possible of “5 glasses” (scores from 1 to 5 glasses)! This achievement is even greater when we consider that the “Al-Ria” was the red with the lowest price of all the other ones tasted! Matt Kramer’s Favourite Rosé
Renowned Wine Spectator journalist Matt Kramer places “Portuga” Rosé at the top of his preferences
With a career of over 40 years, the North-American journalist Matt Kramer is considered one of the most influential wine critics in the World and has been writing regularly for Wine Spectator since 1985. In his last article he wrote about his personal preferences about wines that are currently available in the market. Matt Kramer admitted that at the moment, rosé is the style of wine that he is prefers the most and places Casa Santos Lima’s wine “Portuga” as his top pick: “My current favorite is a Portuguese rosé called Portuga from the producer Casa Santos Lima. A watermelon-hued blend of two indigenous grape varieties, Castelão and Camarate, it’s dry, savory and you get change from a $10 bill. What’s not to like?” Yet another great reference in international publications about Portuguese wines and Casa Santos Lima.
