Harvest 2021 at the Airport Vineyard

Casa Santos Lima started harvesting the grapes from the Airport Vineyard, in the center of Lisbon, on September 10th

Last September 10th, the harvest started at the lisbon airport vineyard! In the heart of the city and with a privileged view to the airport, the portuguese grape varieties Arinto, Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz were harvested. As usual, this harvest will be bottled under the brand Corvos de Lisboa, a wine that has surprised many wine enthusiats, "with a true terroir that marks very much what is the profile of this wines: the Atlantic influence with the sea breezes, which then gives a salinity and a proper acidity because we have mild summers", as explained Toscano Rico (President of the CVR Lisboa). The first day of harvest was marked by a pleasant breakfast, accompanied by the white and red wine Corvos de Lisboa and with the presence of Susana Pinto (TVI), José Sá Fernandes (Alderman of Green Structure and Energy), Francisco Toscano Rico (President of the CVR Lisboa) and José Luís Oliveira da Silva (Administrator of Casa Santos Lima).

CSL Arinto Oak Aged elected "Best Arinto of 2021"

A white varietal wine produced by Casa Santos Lima was distinguished in the "Concurso de Vinhos de Lisboa".

CSL Arinto Oak Aged 2019, a white varietal wine, was elected “best Arinto of 2021” in the “Concurso de Vinhos de Lisboa”, having also received the "Grand Gold" medal. This special wine was made to show all the elegance that a white wine 100% Arinto from the Lisbon Region can have, reflecting the cool climate and power of the Atlantic Ocean.

"Best Portuguese Producer" by Berliner Wein Trophy 2021

The prestigious wine competition distinguished Casa Santos Lima in this category for the 3rd consecutive year.

The German wine competition "Berliner Wein Trophy 2021" elected Casa Santos Lima as the "Best Producer Portuguese" of still wine. In the first edition of this year, which took place last April, the company also received 11 gold medals in wines produced in different regions. This distinction, which the competition awards to Casa Santos Lima for the 3rd consecutive year, is the recognition of the excellent work that has been developed by the entire team in recent years.

CSL Malbec Tinto 2018 distinguished with the medal “Best of Show Lisboa”

CSL Malbec Tinto 2018 receives prestigious medal in the contest "Mundus Vini Spring Tasting 2021"

CSL Malbec 2018, a red varietal wine produced in the Lisbon region, was awarded the "Best of Show Lisboa" award, having also received the "Grand Gold" medal, in the "Mundus Vini Spring Tasting 2021" competition. It was in this prestigious wine competition that Casa Santos Lima was recently recognized as the "Best Portuguese Producer”. The diversity of planted varieties has allowed the company to produce a vast and recognized collection of white and red varietals. This wine is now available in our store in Quinta da Boavista.

"Best Portuguese Producer" by Mundus Vini 2021

Casa Santos Lima elected as the "Best Portuguese Producer" by the prestigious wine competition “Mundus Vini 2021”

Casa Santos Lima was recognized as the "Best Portuguese Producer” by the international wine competition “Mundus Vini Spring Tasting 2021”. Winning this prestigious award demonstrates once again the company's effort and dedication, which has resulted in an excellent national and international positioning. The 1st edition of the competition this year took place between 23 and 25 March and the company won 9 gold medals, which were awarded to wines from different regions.

Harvest 2020 at the Airport Vineyard

Casa Santos Lima harvested the grapes from the Airport Vineyard, in the center of Lisbon, on September 16

On September 16th another harvest took place in the well-known “Airport Vineyard”, in the center of Lisbon. The day began early, with the harvest of the white grape variety Arinto, followed by the red varieties Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz. This project is a partnership between Casa Santos Lima and the City Council of Lisbon. From this vineyard was born the brand "Corvos de Lisboa" whose wines have shown its potential with recognition in international competitions. As expected by Casa Santos Lima, this proved to be another great harvest, which resulted in approximately 26 tons of grape (white and red) of excellent quality.

The columnist describes it this way " delicious, with a slight spritz and bright fruit flavors of strawberry and melon". Dave McIntyre highlights that the brand offers excellent value in affordable wines and reminder that the Lab rosé, from the Lisbon region, was inlcuded in his list of 12 best bargains in 2019.
